Savvycents Wallet Review & Giveaway

I am always trying to do better with money whether it be with using the money system and/or using coupons.  It gets hard to keep track of things, especially with a normal wallet.  I was super happy when I found Savvycents!

Thanks to the generosity of Melinda, President & creator, I was given the opportunity to review a Savvycents wallet in pink!  I just love this wallet

From the Company:
The Savvycents wallet is not only functional but also fashionable. It contains everything you need to organize your monthly or weekly budget using a cash system. With an accordion style file system inside the wallet you can separate money, coupons, receipts or store discount cards by categories. Your wallet comes with file cards where you can label each category with our pre-printed labels. There are also blank labels where you can customize your wallet based on your personal categories. You no longer have to carry envelopes or zip lock bags to separate your money and coupons. Your change will fit nicely in a coin pocket located on the backside of the wallet.

It also has 6 pockets for debit cards and store discount cards. On the opposite side there is a place for your driver’s license and a place for your checkbook.

Wallet is 8” x 4”

This wallet works perfect for me.  It is so cute & I have already got compliments on it :o)  It fits everything I need in it without being huge or bulky.  I love the tabs and think it is great that you are able to customize your own (coupons!)  This is a very user friendly wallet-  It isn't hard to see/find anything and everything is very easy to get to.  The zip coin holder on the back side is great!  No more digging through your purse for coins.

I still have a few things to put in it but you can see how well everything fits!

Buy It:  You can purchase this wallet in black, pink or red from Savvycents HERE for $24.99.

Win ItSavvycents has generously offered to giveaway a pink or black wallet to one of my lucky readers!!

WooHoo for Friday :o)

Finally got a few pics of my baby chicks!  I have 22 of these things  (4 have died :o( )  They are really cute but kind of a pain to take care of.  I look forward to them being big enough to live outside.

We had a nice night- ate dinner outside and then roasted marshmallows and made smores.  I think it was about as redneck as you could get.  Our fire pit is a dryer barrel and we had a lack of sticks so what did my husband do-  Duct taped a fork onto a broken board.  It actually worked quite nice :o)  Really wish my camera wasn't broke!!

Don't forget to check out my giveaways!!  I am always posting new ones (right side)

Organize World Spice Rack & Steppocket Giveaway

My kitchen has very little cupboard space & I have way too much stuff.  Not a good combination.  My spice cupboard was so bad I couldn't even find anything in it, so bad I was too embarrassed to take a before picture.  I was looking online for a solution and found an awesome place!

Organize World provided home storage solutions and custom closets for 15 years before opening up their online store.  They care deeply about their customers and never forget customer service, expertise and product selection.  Organize world is your one stop online shopping center for every room you need organized- They have Closet, Kitchen, Office, Bathroom, Jewelry, Garage & Travel organizers along with many other great items.  The site is very user friendly & I had no problems finding what I was looking for.

I was given the chance to review the Expandable 3-Tier Spice Rack & Silver Mesh Steppockets.

The expanable Spice rack is so nice.  My husband & I were so excited to use this that we organized our cupboard as soon as it arrived!  It helped straighten everything up and we can now read lables because of the tiers.  It is expandable so you can make it smaller if you have other things in the cupboard.

The mesh steppockets were wonderful!  It has two pockets for storage.  I used them to put my spice packets in & want to order one or two more.

Overall, we are very pleased with the quality of these items.  It is so nice to open up the cupboard and be able to find something.

Buy It:  To purchase any of these items visit Organize World online.

Win itOrganize World has generously offered to giveaway the same two products I reviewed to one of my lucky readers!
Expandable 3-Tier Spice Rack $27.99
Silver Mesh Steppockets $9.99

Reasons I love Amazon

Just to name a few-

  • You can find just about anything on Amazon
  • Free or cheap shipping
  • Fast shipping
  • Good prices
I have been slacking, BIG TIME.  My little boy turned 3 yesterday and we are having a party on Saturday.  While I have most of his presents I needed to get a couple more things.  3 1/2 hours away from Walmart- Not good!  Thankfully my mom pays for Amazon Prime Membership.  Free 2 day shipping or $3.99/per item 1 day shipping on qualifying items.  Doesn't get much better than that!

I was able to get this Little Tikes Mud Pie Kitchen for $39.90

My kids will just LOVE this!  They make mud pies all the time & to actually have a spoon and bowl just for that purpose!?!  & not get yelled at for having mom's nice things outside.  AWESOME :oD

And this Little Tikes Spray & Rescue Fire Truck for $59.99

Not much to say about this one- It just looks way fun!  It even holds 2 gallons of water.  Can't wait for him to play with them.

They will both be here Thursday or Friday and I paid $7.98 for 1 day shipping on two items!  That would have been A TON more through almost anywhere else, especially considering the size.  (They say it takes 1-2 day for processing or I would have done 2 day shipping for free)

I have had problems with UPS a few times losing things but I normally have no problems at all.  I think my little man will love these!!

**I do receive a VERY small comission if your order these products from the link I posted.  I only post these links as I feel it is easier for you to see the actual product on Amazon's website. :o)**

Online School Solutions Review

It is no wonder today's generation of students is known as the "iGeneration".  Everything now is so high tech and many children spend most of their time on the computer, even for things such as homework.  I feel education is SO IMPORTANT and it is very necessary to be able to work with kids by giving them more options when it comes to schooling.  No person is the same so why should we expect everyone to learn the same?

I was able to graduate High School one year early because I had the opportunity to take extra classes.  Online classes were the reason I was able to achieve this goal so I know they can be very beneficial to students.  Life is so busy, it is nice to have something that will fit into your schedule- whether this is because moving, being involved in sports, falling behind, or wanting to take advanced classes, online courses are a great solution!!

One great option for online learning is KC Distance Learning (KCDL).  They offer various online distance learning programs for middle school to high school students.  They are a leading provider with the first programs being introduced in 1974.  They offer core, Foreign Language, Honors, and AP courses and in 09-10 had over 40,000 students taking courses.

I had an opportunity to take some time and look over their site.  One of the most important things that stuck out right away was the fact that KCDL's programs are accredited.  This means that diplomas, credits and courses received from them are widely accepted by employers, colleges, etc.  All teachers are licensed and they also have a licensed guidance counselor.  The programs they offer are tailored to a wide variety of students from homeschoolers to those needing to make up credits.  You can enroll year round.  There is also a program, Aventa Learning, that partners with schools and districts seeking to provide extra curriculum to students through online courses .

To get more information you can go to Online School Solutions and click on your state.  This will bring up a list of any KCDL school(s) that currently serve in your state so you can find out more about their excellent programs!

To experience the curriculum offered by online learning, click HERE

I wrote this review through the MomSelect program, and they offered to send me a gift card for my participation. The opinions are my own.

National Geographic Kids Boredom Buster Review & Giveaway

I am sure by now just about everyone has heard I am bored or there is nothing to do from their kids.  Although it is exciting not to go to school let's face it, kids still get bored. (I think there is something wrong with them!)  I had the chance to review this WAY COOL boredom buster package from National Geographic.
My younger kids really enjoyed me reading these to them and my younger brothers (7 & 9) sat and read through a whole book.  I even enjoyed them.

* Weird But True - Based upon the hugely popular page in the National Geographic Kids magazine, kids will definitely say "wow!," "cool!" and "gross!" as they flip through the 301 outrageous facts and learn, for instance, that peanut butter can be converted into a diamond, an elephants tooth can weigh as much as a bowling ball and a dog can make about 100 different facial expressions!

* The Big Book of Fun - Featuring National Geographic's signature photography and vivid graphics, this interactive game book includes over 75 games, mazes, fill-in-the-blank stories, trivia tests and more.

* National Geographic Kids Almanac 2011 - Introduced last year and updated for 2011, this best-selling almanac has quickly become the gold standard. Kids will love the more than 50 puzzles, projects ands cool experiments, the 500 pictures of our planet and all that's on it and the more than 5,000 fun and amazing facts. Parents will love it because its chapters on science, geography and history -- plus more than 15 homework-helper sections -- is a terrific way to kick-start their kids' brains as the new school year approaches.

I am lucky enough to be able to give one lucky reader all 3 books!

Cosmedix Review & GIVEAWAY

Although I have never had many facial/skin problems as a teen I feel like I am not taking proper care of my skin now and it is showing. I have very small lines forming on my forehead and around my eyes.  My body is just not what it used to be after having three kids and I also have a lot of small stretch marks on my legs and a few on my sides. I was very excited when offered the chance to review some Cosmedix products.  I have wanted to find great skin products and my search is already over!!

The first Cosmedix product I have been using is the body shape firming lotion.

A concentrated body-firming treatment suitable for all skin conditions, Body Shape utilizes astaxanthin—an antioxidant 500 times more powerful than vitamin E—in a powerful peptide-antioxidant blend to help tighten, smooth and repair sun-damaged and aging skin.

This product is part of the Body Revolution line which was developed to treat cellulite, stretch marks, signs of aging caused by sun damage and sensitive skin conditions.  This is an anti-aging product that is for more than your face.

Although I have not been using this product for very long I really like it!  It is a decent sized bottle and as with all Cosmedix products, a little goes a long way.  This lotion rubs right in and leaves my skin feeling very smooth.

This product does not just create soft skin on the outside, it "creates a physiological change in the skin"

I also had the chance to try the pure enzymes exfoliating mask.

This gentle, exfoliating mask harnesses the natural power of cranberry enzymes and lactic acid to tenderly scrub away facial impurities and decongest blocked pores. As active ingredients exfoliate, protect and revitalize the skin, potent, oil-free moisturizers add a dewy softness to blemish-prone skin
This is my favorite mask out of every product I have ever tried. I was curious how it would be when I put it on as it seemed to be a really thin consistency.  Once again, a little goes a long way.  I put this on my face and it gave me the nice tight feeling you look for with a mask.  It does have an odd smell to it but nothing horrible.

You apply this mask on clean skin and rinse off after 3-10 minutes.  I actually enjoy leaving it on the full 10 minutes.  My skin feels extra smooth and hydrated after using this.  It is very gentle yet scrubs away dirt and excess oil all without clogging your pores.

This product is ideal for all skin types-including acne-prone, hyperpigmented, and sun-exposed skin.

My favorite product from Cosmedix is the Opti Crystal Chirally Correct Eye Serum.

With liquid crystals to replenish damaged, thinning skin around the eyes and growth factors and alpha lipoic acid to dramatically diminish the appearance of eye lines and wrinkles, Opti Crystal is the ultimate tool in anti-aging eye care. A chirally correct blend of protective, corrective and cell-stimulating ingredients, this powerful eye serum actively revitalizes delicate skin for a radiant, younger-looking finish.
This is such an amazing product!  It is irridescent and takes very little.  All you do is gently pat this on around your eye and/or lip area.  This actually works to reduce fine lines and wrinkles!  This helps to nourish dry and dehydrated skin and also stimulates collagen and elastic production.  This eye serum really firms your skin and is also non-irritating.

I really loved the way this felt.  It was not oily and seemed to rub right in.  This is an awesome age-defying product I would recommend to everyone.

I love that Cosmedix products work so great and you don't have to worry about skin irritation or down time as with conventional treatments.  It is such a great feeling to find a skin care company that is actually worth it!

A little more about Cosmedix:

From prevention and correction to “whole”istic nutrition, CosMedix is committed to the health and well-being of our patrons.

Reminder- 100 postcards giveaway ENDING

The 100 Postcard Giveaway ends tonight at 11:59 p.m. PST  These would make great thank you cards, invitations, save the dates, or just to say hello :o)  Hurry & enter!!  There are not many entries so you have a good chance of winning!

Chickens

I have chickens in my backyard.  3 hens and 7 roosters.  I cannot wait to start getting eggs!  My hens should start laying by September or October and we will be "disposing" of the roosters hopefully sometime soon.  I originally wanted Silkies and had ordered some in the Spring.  It was cold enough they sent an extra 10 roosters (packing peanuts) to keep them warm.  They were so small and weak half of them died within a week.  I think it was too much for them being in with regular size chickens and the others didn't make it after being moved outside.  I was heartbroken but happy to have the three that survived.

I received an e-mail from IDEAL POULTRY today stating "Wow - our bantams hatched great today. Over 3,000 that need to be shipped today! Can you help us out?"  They are having and awesome sale and  I was way excited when my husband said you should call & order some.  I have 25 bantam chicks that were born today being shipped to me.  I should have them Friday!!  I think it will be much easier now that it is warmer and they will not be in with any other chickens.  I will keep you posted & Wish me luck :o)

Wednesday Hop

HI!!  I love meeting new people :o)  Please leave a comment so I can follow back.

I have a low entry giveaway for postcards ending tonight and also Country Bob's All purpose sauce with only 1 entry ending 7/31.  Feel free to check out all of my giveaways (on the right side).

Country Bob's Sauce Review and Giveaway

I am a big meat eater & I usually use A1 sauce.  When I had the chance to review Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce I was very excited.  My husband cooks a lot and we like to try new things.  Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce can be used for tons of different things, burgers, steak, fries, chicken, shrimp, etc.  We used it with porkchops and my husband made burgers with it one night.  This sauce is delicious!  It is a bit thinner than A1.  It seemed to taste in between A1 and Worcestershire Sauce and had a little tang to it.  My mom used it at her house and they all enjoyed it also.  This is something I will continue to keep on hand!

Country Bob's also sells Spice All Purpose Sauce, Barbeque Sauce and Seasoning Salt.  You can also purchase a Country Bob's cookbook & apparel.

Country Bob perfected his sauce in 1968.  He then began selling his sauce in 1977 after years of having family and friend try it.  It of course went big from there with the company expanding.  The corporate office is located in Centralia, Illinois.

To Purchase:  You can buy Country Bob's products online or at many places locally. My mom saw it at WalMart in Las Vegas, NV. To find a retailer near you click HERE.

Win it: Country Bob's has generously offered to give TWO of my readers TWO bottles of All Purpose Sauce :o)

1st Family Movie Night

So my husband and I went to a movie Friday night and left the kids behind.  They were pretty bummed out but I promised them we would do a "Family Movie Night".  We don't have a theater anywhere close and hardly ever go regardless because of my kids' age (5, 2 and 1).  When we have attempted, one of us usually ends up missing half of the movie.

I wanted to make this fun & somewhat real for them so here is what we did:

My awesome aunt made us a really cool sign

I bought snacks- candy & crackers, juice, soda & got fun popcorn holders from my cousin (they were cheap at our local grocery store.  You could probably find at WalMart, dollar store, etc.)  I set up the "Concession Stand" & sign.  My husband had the genious idea of grabbing the cash register! :o)

While I was busy setting up the table we put the kids in their "cars"  We used cheap plastic bins I had bought for their toys.  You could also use boxes and let them decorate them beforehand.  I thought about having my husband take them for a drive but didn't have much time so we had them pretend to drive to the bank where my husband passed out envelopes with fake money.

When I was finished the kids got to come pay for their ticket (raffle ticket) and buy their popcorn, snacks & drinks.  My husband rang them up and we had to help with the money but they still had so much fun!  I went and stood in the entrance to the living room and tore their tickets in half.  They then went and got back in their "cars" and we started the movie.

The plastic bins were nice because most of the popcorn stayed in there.  This worked well with the kids because we were able to stop the movie about half way through for potty breaks and to get more drinks and popcorn.  I have a few more ideas for next time but this turned out really good!!

Friday Fun

So I have some really awesome giveaways (PlasmaCar, CCrafters soap, cupcake toppers, Baby Prodigy DVD's) going on right now & lots more to come :o)  So make sure you check them out!!

My husband and I hardly ever get alone time so we are going on a date tomorrow night to watch a movie.  This entails an almost 2 hr drive each way for us.  I know, pretty sad but it will be fun!!!  I promised the kids a "Fun Family Movie Night" on Saturday and have a few fun ideas I will be sharing sometime soon.

Hope everyone has a HAPPY FRIDAY!!
